Our Story

JonnyJonny, Yes Papa.Ā That is how simple, the idea was.

Create a brand to recognize men in their roles as fathers.

Ā

Ā

CoFounders Parul Kapur and Vatsala Shugla Kasera, while in the different stages of their life, realised a similar gap that exists in our society.

Parul (MSc in Communication Management from Singapore Management University) came acrossĀ Centre for Fathering, a non-profit in Singapore, which promotes the positive role and influence of a dad in his child's life.

And, Vatsala (Tarot card reader and Public Relations from Xavier Institute of Communication), when became a new mom. realised the importance of the fatherĀ for her daughter.

What started as a thought eventually grew into bigger questions;

    • Is there anyone or anything focused solely on dads and their roles as a parent?
    • Who is talking to the newage fathers who are stepping up?
    • With the interchangeable roles of husbands-wives in earning and caretaking, where are the products and services catering to them as a unit?
    • And lastly, are we doing enough to encourage menĀ in this role? (because we definitely encourage the mothers a lot)

Ā

This was our foundation.

Moms feel special because there are plethora of products and services attending to their every need, and the baby market is even more flooded. But the dads who areĀ eager to learn and engage are left on the sidelines.

Fathers are also equally present and do it all, just DIFFERENTLY. This became key in our journey into findingĀ how to reach out to theĀ dads. And taking #dadhood seriously.

We, at JonnyJonny understand and recognize that dads can do it all, but in their own unique way. Hence, here we are taking the first step in that direction, to provide tools, resources and support for dads; in a language they get andĀ a style they will embrace. Let's helpĀ them bond with their baby from the get-go!
